The Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery: Where History Rests

A walk through the Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery is a stroll through Cheltenham's past. Each tombstone is a marker of their enduring legacy, a representation of all the love and labour, the sweat and sorrow, and the toil and tears of the past.

After 150 years serving the community, the Pioneer Cemetery is worth remembering...

Written by former President Travis M. Sellers (2007-14), The Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery: Where History Rests is the fifth book in the Remembering Them series published by the Friends of Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries Inc. The A5-sized book comprises 208 pages and 82,000 words with colour illustrations and an index of over 800 names. It is a rich source covering not only the history of the Pioneer Cemetery, but snippets of local history featuring persons buried at the cemetery. The publication contains a number of appendices including a summary of the trustee minutes (1863-1932).
